A Long Week

Well, it's been quite a long time since I've posted anything I don't think I've had time to stop and rest.

Jason and Tabatha's wedding was 2 weekends ago and we had a really good time. A little stressful at times, but other than that I think everything came off pretty well! I would post a few pictures, but I was so caught up in everything that I might have taken 2 the whole day.

Speaking of weddings ours is in about 320 days! And the countdown begins! Everything still on track, and my dress should be in mid-August. The bridesmaid dresses are picked out and ready to be ordered soon. The only really big part of planning not finished yet is the reception centerpieces. I've been debating between a few different ideas and trying to come up with the most cost-friendly solution... I'm sure I'll figure it out soon!

This Wednesday we are moving into our new apartment! Yeah! We get a washer/dryer combo in this one and its about 15 minutes closer to campus! Can you tell I'm really excited...except for the moving part. I've been realizing that we have a lot of 'stuff ' that doesn't really get used or worn. Needless to say Goodwill or the trash man will be seeing most of our old things. The bad news about moving is we will miss seeing our new-found neighbors who live across the street :( We will most likely come back to see them throughout the school year so we can keep updated with new exciting things.

The other day I talked with Anthony. He's doing fine, he gets a 2 week leave period away from the base. Christy is driving out to see him later this week and they will take a mini vacation to NYC and Washington D.C.- I can say I'm a little jealous because I've never been there before. He will be heading to Kuwait when he gets back to the base on August 12 or 15th (I cant remember which now). They will spend a month there trying to acclimate their bodies to the climate before heading to Iraq. He will be in our thoughts and prayers the entire time he's on tour overseas and we would love for you to keep him in your prayers as well.

Until next time...

Wedding Bells Are Near!

Over the weekend we traveled down to Monrovia/Mooresville area to visit family! Jason and Tabatha are under the one week mark and are very excited for their wedding. So it was time for the couple to spend their last 'single' weekend! Jake, Jason, John, and one of Jasons friends all went out downtown Indy for the night, while Tabatha, Rachel, Jessica and I went shopping and out for dinner.
(Jake holding John & Rachel's dog: Stuccino) After a long night of fun we spent the next day at the pool with everyone before we left to come back to Lafayette.

Superbowl Ring!

This past June John got his Superbowl ring from the Colts! We had the chance to try it on and see it first hand. It was pretty exciting considering it was over $22,000!

Recent Pictures!

Here are just a few of our Engagement pictures we had taken at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in the beginning of May! We loved our photographers, but are excited that we got a chance to meet them. Their website is http://www.kevinmonahanphotography.com/ for anyone who would like to see more of their pictures!
I was going to upload several more, but the computer seems to take forever when uploading large files..imagine that!
In our next post I will upload some pictures of the superbowl ring! This was supposed to be in this one too, but the time for uploading is out of control!
We need to get ready to go to a Blacker family reunion today at 1.

Our First Blog!

Jake and I decided to get a blog because, well I might have decided-but thats beside the point, our friends from church have a cute blog for their kids and I liked the idea. I've never really liked writing, but maybe this will encourage me (and Jake) to be more creative!

This summer has been very busy with work and makes me realize how much better grad school actually sounds. I think Jakes 40 hour weeks that are combined with many football workouts and a couple classes has put him over the edge for now. I think he's getting a little burnt out on the whole 'internship' idea.

Wedding plans are always a good thing to update on, but recently nothing has been decided. The bridesmaid dresses are down to picking between 2 or 3 dresses and my dress should be in mid-August! Woohoo! I've already completed a draft of our programs, which just shows how bored I can get when I dont want to do anything else. Its OK if a girl gets excited about her wedding day extravaganza!

Well, I decided to start at 1:00am soo I think thats it for now. Hopefully I will become skilled enough to add pictures and other more exciting features to the blog!
